OKADA RIDERS: Major Roads Block in Zamfara, protesting killing of Colleagues Because of N50 Levy*

 

The report from Zamfara State have it that commercial motorcycle riders have blocked major roads leading to the town consequent up on the killing of one of their business partners over refusal to pay N50 daily due mandated by the union. Usman Muhammad, one of the commercial motorcycle rider lost his life when he refused to pay the N50 daily dues imposed by the union officials.

“The deceased refused to abide by the Motorcycle Riders Association’s rule, and in an attempt to escape, a fight ensued, which led to his death,” Report disclosed.

It was reliably gathered that the motorcycle riders mobilised and blocked major roads leading to the city, preventing all motorists from proceeding with their legitimate endeavours.

Information at our disposal revealed that many motorists find it difficult to navigate through the situation, leaving windscreen of those attempting to force their way smashed by the angry motorcycle riders.

All attempt to reach the State Police Command’s spokesman, ASP Yazid Abdulahi, proved futile, as his phone lines were unreachable.
