A youth stakeholder in Ogun West Senatorial district of Ogun state, Comrade Jinad Hammed has lamented the alleged Continous marginalization of people of Ogun West senatorial district of Ogun state in infrastructure development, job empowerment and political leadership of the state.
Speaking with journalists, He said that, “The rate of neglect and degradation in Ogun West is sickening and nauseating. Our youths in Ogun West are jobless and even few of our employed graduates are primary school teachers, our roads are in very distasteful state, we are lacking several infrastructural facility, with obvious signs of poverty and hunger in the land. Our traditional rulers too, are not seen converging to discuss ways to create employment for the teeming unemployed youths within thier constituency, in an area with large expanse of land and industrial facilities in Ogun West.”
He also urged the concerned stakeholders to shop inward and look within while selecting future representative to defend the interest of people of Ogun West senatorial district area.
Hammed, who is also a youth politician in the state, explained how the Continous marginalization has affected the growth and immediate development of the consistuency, as well as their fair share of democracy.
He, however, urged political leaders and traditional leaders to look within while selecting future representatives of the area.
In his words, “In past 16 years, this seems to be the very first time that the people of Ogun West will choose thier political Representatives without the influence of any godfather anywhere. But, how much are we ready to take our future to our hands and never lose the opportunity?”
“At this critical stage, I think if Ogun West leaders even prefer to import candidate to represent us as before, it shouldn’t be a foreign personality who didn’t know what we are facing as challenges at home.
However, we don’t need to import anyone from anywhere, since we have our fines ones like Abiodun Akinlade, GNI, Noimot Salako, Salimot Badru, Leye Odunjo and others who are proving already to be development- oriented.”, he explained.
Buttressing his words, he said, We need those who will be at all time around to hear the people, share their pains and find reason to invest at home, in a way to take some of our youths out the street and not people who will be moving from one place to another and only show up to identify with us during electioneering period.
If not now when would we be the determinant destiny, when would we develop our land and grow our own sons and daughters.
