The Nigeria Senate has reportedly summoned the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the Commissioner of Police for FCT, Benneth Igwe, following sad incident of killing of Mr Chris Agidy, an aide to Senator Ned Nwoko (PDP, Delta North) by some kidnappers.

The invitation of Wike and CP was as a result of adoption of prayers contained in a motion sponsored on Wednesday 28th by Hon. Nwoko on the kidnap and killing of his senior legislative aide.
The late aid, Mr. Agidy was kidnapped alongside other 19 in the Galadimawa area of Abuja around November 2023.
Among other prayers adopted by the honourable Senate members, after a debate on the motion, were that the Inspector-General of Police (IG), Kayode Egbetokun, should immediately double-up security patrols and surveillance within Abuja and across the nation for proactive measures against kidnappings and killing.
The Senate members also unanimously reached resolution that the IG should work towards installation of CCTV Cameras in strategic locations within and around Abuja highways and that the police should dedicate a three-digit emergency number for effective emergency response.
