It was a moment of unity and one voice when Council of Muslim Organizations (CMO) in Ilorin gathered today for a special prayer under the permission of Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari CFR, where thousands of people gartherd to pray for the peace and security of Nigeria.
The special prayer, under the Chairmanship of Chief Imam of Ilorin, Dr Muhammad Bashir, in collaboration with Ilorin Emirate Development Progressive Union (IEDPU) led by Alhaji Usman Ali was centred to address the high rising cases of kidnapping, armed banditry, insurgency, Covid-19 pandemic among other unpleasant tendencies in the country, Kwara and Ilorin in particular.
While given the reasons why prayer is the only solution to Nigeria current situation, The Coordinator of the organization who led the prayer, Retired Justice Idris Haroon, said despite numerous Mosques and Churches in Nigeria, the situation is getting worse.
Joining other Islamic scholars in the prayer, the Special Adviser to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazak on religion, Bolakale Subair, who spoke on behalf of the government, commended the Council of Muslim Organizations for the Spirit approach, adding that Abdulrahman led admission is mobilising the available resources to promote communal peace and general well-being of the people.
