Housewife Stabs Husband To Death, Claimed Self-Defence – Details.
Information reached thenewskingdom have it that a 22-year-old housewife, Zainab Isa, has been Apprehended for allegedly killing her husband, Ibrahim Yahaya, 25, at Abbari Ward in Damaturu City.
It was gathered that Zainab was arrested by the Yobe State Police Command.
According to DSP Dungus Abdulkareem, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, in a statement made available to newsmen, said the command was saddened by the unfortunate action of a couple that led to the death of the young man due to the consequences of an abusive marriage.
Abdulkareem said, the C Divisional Police Headquarters received a complaint from a neighbour in Abbari Ward, Damaturu, that the couple had a violent argument which escalated into a scuffle.
Abdulkareem stated further that the neighbour of the couple told Police that the wife lused a knife to stab the husband in the chest, and he subsequently died from his grievous injury before the police rescue team arrived.
According to the Police PRO, the assailant was brought to the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for discreet investigation and subsequent arraignment before the court.
While confessing to the crime, the suspect claimed that she did not intend to kill her husband but stabbed him in self-defence.
Zainab further claimed that their marriage had been marred by violence from the outset, often occurring when she requested for food or money, and had continued even after the birth of their first child and the arrival of their second child, despite her husband’s inability to provide for their needs.
