Kwara State of Assembly has identified alternative source of energy as panacea to erratic power supply in the state.
The House made the assertion following a Motion on Notice titled “Need To Explore Renewable Energy As Alternative Source of Power Generation” moved by Barrister Abdulganiy Folabi-Salau representing Omupo Constituency.
Barrister Folabi-Salau expressed displeasure over huge investment on power sector without any positive impact on the Nation.
Other lawmakers in their contributions, lamented over poor electricity generation and tasked the Executive Arm of Government to enter into partnership with alternative energy operators towards solving incessant epileptic power outage in the state.
Reading the resolution of the House, Speaker, Engineer Yakubu Salihu urged the state government to diversify electricity generation with use of Solar Energy through Public Private Partnership to enhance socio economic activities of the state.
